Floating Docks
Floating docks can be built in many shapes, sizes, and styles. At Honc Docks & Lifts, we most commonly use foam-filled plastic floats for support and a wooden frame that matches the standard fixed dock. The frame is then decked with marine-grade wood or plastic decking to match the fixed dock. Additional options include aluminum-framed floating docks or Concrete floating docks. Aluminum- or wood-framed ramps are used to allow the homeowner access down to the floating dock from the uplands.
We prefer our docks to be built 8′ or 10′ wide for stability. Floating docks can make loading or unloading a boat with people or supplies easier than with fixed docks. Additionally, kayakers enjoy the low free-board for entry and exit.
